- Learn to Dye
Finally, after more than 18 months of covid disrupting our lives, I am delighted to offer my first in-person workshop. I hope you can join me & other like-minded people to celebrate a return to "in-person" creative gatherings.
Spend the day learning/experimenting with simple natural dye techniques using materials readily available in our kitchens, gardens & neighbourhoods to create a soothing rainbow of beautiful natural colour.
Join me at my studio in Harolds Cross for this hands-on workshop where you will learn all the basics of the natural dyeing process. Together we will cover: preparing fabric, creating dye baths, dyeing/application, modifiers, mordants, dye plants/sources and everything else needed to create a beautiful range/palette of colours naturally & sustainably.
This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to get started with natural dyeing & not sure where to start, those that have tried and run into challenges or anyone overwhelmed by the process. I will share the information with you in a clear, easy to follow, enjoyable and simple way. This workshop is also great for anyone wanting to expand their own creative process & those interested in creating safe, sustainable, natural colour.
All materials will be provided and you will leave with a solid understanding of the process of natural dyeing, confidence in your newfound skills, class samples, your very own swatch journal and a final piece! You are also welcome to bring 1-3 small pieces (no duvet covers!) of your own to dye.
Location | Home Studios, Harolds Cross, Dublin 6
Dates | Saturday 16th or Sunday 17th | 10-2 pm
