Natural Dyeing For Beginners | Learn How To Naturally Dye Your Own Wool Hat
Come join me in my beautiful studio this October 22nd & spend the morning experimenting with simple natural dye techniques using materials readily available in our kitchens, gardens & neighbourhoods. You will learn to create a soothing rainbow of beautiful natural colours & naturally dye your own hat in a colour of your choice. If you have ever wanted to learn how to naturally dye, this class is the perfect starting point.
This is a hands-on workshop where you will learn all the basics of the natural dyeing process. Together we will cover everything involved in extracting dye from plants & applying this to fabrics & fibres. During the workshop, you will learn the steps required to create colours naturally & sustainably.
This natural dyeing workshop for beginners is perfect for anyone who wants to try a new creative hobby, get started with natural dyeing, anyone wanting to expand their own creative process, or those interested in creating safe, sustainable, natural colours.
Do I need to bring anything?
You will have the opportunity to dye your own 100% wool hat during class & create a journal filled with naturally dyed swatches to take home. I will have three styles of hat to choose from, so you'll be sure to find one to suit your beautiful head!
All materials will be provided and you will leave with a solid understanding of the process of natural dyeing and confidence in your newfound skills.
Apart from what we will dye in class, you are welcome to bring 1-3 small pieces of your own to dye. Participants often like to bring old t-shirts, tops, napkins, pillowcases etc., this is completely optional.
