Naturally Dyed Indigo Fabric
This beautiful linen cloth has been hand-dyed using the beautiful blue dye known as "Indigo". Indigo is the name given to the dye that comes from plants (of which there are many species) containing the indigotin compound which produces an incredible blue dye. Used throughout Asia, South America & Africa, indigo is one of the oldest known natural dyes used by man.
This cloth has been woven from the softest European linen & can be used for sewing projects, as a table cloth or as a throw to add a beautiful touch to any room.
Using a combination of rainwater and plant-based dyes we dye our textiles without the use of any harmful chemicals or synthetic ingredients, making our textiles truly eco-friendly. Once we achieve the desired depth of shade, we wash all our pieces in an eco-friendly detergent before carefully labelling & packaging in recycled paper products.
The photos are a guide to the colour & each piece of fabric will differ slightly in depth of shade with some being lighter and darker than the photograph. Due to the nature of plant dyes, the fabric may come with small irregularities. We believe the imperfections add to the beauty and uniqueness of the cloth & reflect the natural process and nuances of natural dyes.
