Weld (Reseda Iuteola L.) is a biennial dye, with long spikes and small pale yellow flowers. One of the oldest dye plants used in Europe, it grew in the south of Sweden, North Africa, West Asia, Britain & parts Europe. Apparently the Romans used weld to dye the ancient robes of the vestal virgins in Roman times.
Our linen is woven by a second generation, family run, Linen mill in south of Ireland, the last surviving mill in the South.
