Naturally Dyed Irish Alpaca Yarn
I am not sure where to start with this yarn. It is quite possibly the most beautiful fibre I have ever felt. Deliciously soft & silken to the touch, lightweight, yet warm & strong.
Made from the hair of Irish Alpacas raised with love in Co. Wicklow, then naturally dyed by hand using colour extracted from plants. This yarn has been grown, sheared, spun, washed, scoured, mordanted, dyed & made into hanks. Made in a limited batch, this yarn is as luxurious as it gets.
Due to the nature of plant dyes & the process of natural dyeing, this yarn may come with small irregularities which add to the beauty and uniqueness of this piece. Each hank is unique, with the characteristics of a beautiful handmade piece. Please note that the photos are a guide to the batch as they cannot be photographed individually.
This is the exact yarn that I have used in the alpaca hats in the shop, knit using a single 100g ball. It could be double-stranded for a thicker more textured feel. This yarn is perfect for hats, sweaters or cardigans.
