- Learn to Dye
Woven from linen & hand-dyed using traditional dyeing techniques this linen shawl is perfect for that extra layer of colour & warmth. This piece looks great worn as a scarf or draped as a shawl, adding a rich layer of colour to any wardrobe.
Patiently hand-dyed using the beautiful blue dye known as "Indigo". Indigo is the name given to the dye that comes from plants (of which there are many species) containing the indigotin compound which produce an incredible blue dye. Used throughout Asia, South America & Africa, indigo has a rich and vibrant history & is one of the oldest know natural dyes used by humans.
Our textiles are prepared for dyeing by a process known as scouring & then hand-dyed to achieve the shades you see. Once we achieve the desired depth of shade, we wash all our pieces in an eco-friendly detergent before carefully labelling & packaging in recycled paper products.
Due to the nature of hand dyeing with plant dyes, these scarves come with a slight variation of shade & contain irregularities which add to the beauty and uniqueness of this piece.
