Grey Irish Linen Scarf
As with all our linen products this piece has gone through all the stages necessary to dye the fabric sustainably. We start with raw loom state Irish Linen & prepare the fabric for dyeing by removing any excess oils, wax or residue from the fibres. We then mix the dye bath, in this case the colour was achieved by dyeing the linen with Cutch, a dye extracted from the heartwood of the Acacia Catechu tree. A small thorny tree native to South Asia, grown in Indonesia, East Africa and tropical America. This piece was dyed over many days, we then shifted the PH of the dye bath to achieve the colour you see. Once we are satisfied with the colour we wash/dry the fabric & sew the labels on by hand.
All our products are washed using eco-friendly PH sensitive laundry soap & softener.
