" Today championing sustainable solutions is vital to us, as is promoting the work of indigenous artisans whose creativity has been too long overlooked. The Selvedge community is enthusiastic about a future that is handmade" .
What an honour to have been interviewed for the 100th anniversary edition of Selvedge Magazine. With Iris Apfel on the cover & the pages filled with incredible artists from all over the world. Selvedge is a celebration of textiles, creativity & culture, a true visual feast. It is a magazine that champions sustainable solutions while promoting the work of indigenous artisans. As part of the anniversary issue, I have teamed up with Selvedge to offer readers the opportunity to win a gift bundle of naturally dyed wools worth £300. The deadline to enter is the 15th of June, to learn more or be in with a chance to win click here for details.
I am also delighted to announce that I will be offering a 2 day live workshop hosted by Selvedge on the 18th & 19th of September. This introduction to natural dyeing workshop will cover the process of natural dyeing from how to best prepare your fabric, how to make colour last, creating dye baths, dyeing fibre & much more. Participants will receive a natural dye kit with all the supplies to help you get the most from this workshop, from Donegal aran wool & Irish Linen to the magical ingredients necessary for successful dyeing. You'll also have the opportunity to watch and follow along as I guide participants through the process from un-dyed fibre to finished naturally dyed textiles. You will learn how to create a beautiful palette of natural colour & apply this confidently to all natural fibre types. To learn more or to reserve a space, see Selvedge for more details.
