Driftwood

Driftwood

Here's some photos of my recent work & some of the inspiration behind it. I took these photos of the dolls about 2 weeks ago on a lovely rainy Friday. I camped out in the studio distracting myself from the wet bike-ride home by drinking cups of tea, making coats, crowns & bags for the ladies! I started taking photos and got very ( a little! ) carried away with the driftwood! It was the first bit of doll work that I got stuck into since moving back from California & it felt really nice to be productive. The pieces of driftwood came from a trip to Mendocino that myself & the girls were very fortunate to take before we left our lives in California (thanks to the lovely Ron & Theo for the use of their beautiful home)! Mendocino is a beautiful quant coastal town North of San francisco ! I spent the day listening to the rain fall & reminiscing on our good times by the Coast. Later that day, after getting completely drenched on the ride home the girls asked me how my day was, I showed them these photos ….and they said " is that what you did all day !" …… eh yes !
